First Taste: Thip Khao

Complimentary pork rinds with a delicious spicy sauce.
Believe what you've heard... Thip Khao is as good as the rumors suggest.

Great way to wash it all down.
Laotian cuisine is similar to Thai with a lot less seafood since Laos is landlocked.
NAEM KHAO  Crispy rice, coconut, lime, green onion, sausage, peanut, cilantro, lettuce wraps.
The restaurant does offer some Thai dishes as well.
MEE KATHI Rice Noodle soup, coconut red curry, shrimp paste, eggs, peanut. Topped with cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots.
I liked everything on the menu.
KNAP PAH Grilled Chilean Sea Bass wrapped in banana leaves, herbs, ginger, dill.
Good prices and they even take reservations.  Head over to Columbia Heights and check it out for yourself.
CHUENH NOK Quail, lemongrass, ginger, black pepper.  I don't normally order quail, but this was extremely tender and full of flavor.
Cheers!
Pumpkin Rice Pudding.  Not the prettiest presentation, but very tasty!
